Garage Sale Event AND SOCKS SOCKS SOCKS

Well we had our wonderful garage sale/demo event. All who attended had a great time and got some really cool bargains. The table vendors made lots of money and the store did well too.
We are already planning our next event. A BIG THANK YOU SHOUT OUT TO:
Kimberly McCausland from Our Craft Lounge for doing a wonderful make n take inside the store. She made the coolest display out of the back of the store with all of her super cute stamp sets.

AND to Rayme Royale and Danielle Forsgren from Scrapbook Diva's internet radio show for being on hand to sign their fabulous new project book. Which by the way - has been picked up by a local major craft store (congrats to them). BUT WE STILL HAVE SIGNED COPIES FOR SALE IN THE STORE - but they are going fast - so be sure to get your soon.

AND to the gals that demo'd - I don't know what I'd do without them!
AND WE CAN'T FORGET THE GREAT RANDINI - who I'm told gave out 15% discounts to everyone that purchased. So if you missed this event - you better catch the next one - coz he'll be there handing out stuff.

We are planning our next event for July - be sure to watch for the dates!!!!!

As for my knitting - not much other than socks. I've mastered Lindsay's winding river toe up sock pattern and I've mastered Cat Bordhi's circular cuff down sock pattern - the Columbine Peak. Both very cute and very fun.

With the new hours for project nite (2nd and 4th Thursday's of every month) and the new store hours - I've been able to get home earlier and knit more. Maybe I'll even finish more projects.

Projects for the store have included - finishing the 3 books for the classes, the grungeboard book, the 7 gypsies book and the altered mini. I've had lots of fun working "OUTSIDE" the box. My kind of art! (you know - NO RULES).

My grandson Davin - now has a tooth (I can't believe he did that without me!!!!). So I'm planning my trip to see him a little earlier! - Probably September for his 1 yr birthday.
But he's as cute as ever and I miss him dearly (ok I miss my daughter and son in law too).
That's it for now............
gotta do some ordering for the store now - keepin those new products coming.

Back from Vacation

So I've been to my little trade show where I spent some stamp dollars buying some really great new things for everyone to play with. I got to take some AMAZING classes - two of them taught by Tim Holtz and brought back some wonderful samples for the store which will be our great new class projects.
We stayed a few extra days for vacation and bummed around San Fran for awhile and then went to Cambria and spent a night there. We had an absolutely wonderful time and ate lots of seafood!
But vacations come to an end and I was anxious to get back to show off my projects. And besides - Dawn missed me! She and I are busy getting ready for the garage sale event.
So here's the REMINDER!!!!!! MAY 9TH, SATURDAY, 11:00 AM TO 4:00 PM. RENT A TABLE SPACE FOR $5 OR $10 AND SELL YOUR OLD STAMPS/BOOKS/ANYTHING PAPER CRAFTING RELATED. then you can spend ALL that money in the store hahaha.
We'll have some things on sale and we'll have some surprises for you.
We are also going to have three very special guests: KIMBERLY FROM OUR CRAFT LOUNGE - she'll be bringing a trunk show of new designs and doing a great make it/take it.
DANIELLE FORSGREN/RAYME ROYALE will be on hand to sign their new project packed design book. Very affordable at $19.95 and full of fun easy to do/easy instruction projects that you can complete in no time at all. I have a sample in the store for you to browse.
We will also be doing demo's on some of your favorite products - of course. And if you want to see something special that day - JUST ASK ME!
As for knitting:
I am hooked on SOCKS! I've been doing lots of different socks and using lots of different yarns.
I now have at least 5 projects on the needles - take that Linda!
Gotta go - must knit..........

WOW have I had a slammin 2 days. It's the Blue grass Festival in Old Town and the streets are buzzin with spectators and bluegrass music enthusiasts.
We are constantly getting in new things - It's so much fun to see (and remember) what I've ordered.
I keep Dawn and Debbie constantly busy with ideas for cards and with my requests to make samples. Their work is ALL OVER the store. Remember - anytime you want you can take photos or we'll make a copy of the cards with any purchase in the store. We are so happy that you like our work.
Of course I would LOVE LOVE LOVE it if you would all bring in your work - All 3 of us love to get ideas from you. So there is lots to see in the shop and I'm ordering new stuff all the time. It's so fun to see all of you walk thru the door.
I've started on my next altered book project for you. We are also planning to do the same book we did in the last class. You'll have some choices when you come in. I'm working on getting some help with our web site so I'll have more time to put together those distressed art samples.
As for knitting - still on the coat and the shawl :-( I'm sooooooo bored with them now and I need to move ON! But I'm determined to get them done before moving on.
I'll be off for the next 2 days YEAH! So I'll get in some much needed rest and knitting time.
Till next time - keep stampin, smilin, knittin, crochetin or whatever your craft may be - JUST TAKE THE TIME TO DO IT.
love to you all.......D :-)

Well my daughter gave me the gift of a rare day off in the MIDDLE of the week. It was great however she did call a few times but she had a great day so that was ok!
Thank you to some of you that have signed on to follow this. It's really fun to do this everyday and not have to wait on the great Randini to publish my comments. This is just great!
And speaking of the great Randini - he's sitting here on the couch being his usual hilarious self - picking on me of course. I think he needs a road trip.
I've gotten lots of knitting done while waiting for tax persons to contact me about how much it's going to cost to finally get this done. We are looking for someone to do our biz and personal taxes - we had to let our person go from last year. So I kinda like interviewing the potential person. Maybe you guys could pass along some names and phone numbers to us. We don't have lots of money to spend on taxes - so reasonably priced are the words of the day.
I also now have some time to put together our next altered project. I've got some great ideas and want to do a sort of nautical theme or a time flies kind of theme. We'll see where my muse takes me.
But whatever the theme - I've been studying some new techniques using some real mixed media - it should be fun.
I've been busy ordering some new art stamps to do some new altered things. Got a new company coming into the store.
Also got some new Art Impressions stamps and we'll be doing a new watercolor class - An English Countryside - soooooooo cute.
I'm also working on a flower soft framed picture that is turning out really well. - If it works - we'll do that as a class.
It's so much fun to be back creating - MAN OH MAN - rest is a beautiful thing to get your muse back!!!!!!!!
Till next time........

An Altered Journey Class

So we had a fabulous time with the little book full of distressed fun. Everyone (I think) had a great time doing using Tim Holtz distress inks and distress embossing powders. The book that they created looked AMAZING. Some of the students used their own creativity and made the book unique to them. All in All we had fun. I don't usually teach classes at my store - so it was fun for me and I learned some things about teaching and prep work as well.

So to all you gals out there giving me grief about not having a blog - HERE IT IS!
My first ever blog.
I'm finally done with the tax things on my computer program. We are ready for the tax man! or Woman! whichever the great Randini finds.
WOW AM I GLAD THAT'S OVER. AND BOY DID I LEARN A LESSON HERE!
Now I can get back to making my art and knitting and crocheting.
Currently working on a very pastel white/blue/yellow (sort of baby colors) shawl for the guest room in our house. But I'm thinking that Meagan will take it over(hmmmmm that's a problem).
I have some news about our online endeavors: I am now part of the Shopatron process. It's sort of like an Overstock.com thing. You can sign up an account with Shopatron as a customer and order some of your favorite things from Stampendous, 7 Gypsies, Maya Road, Etc. and I'll be able to fulfill the order thru the process at Shopatron. It's gonna get me used to being an online shipper. So far it's pretty easy.
Gotta go for now - Gotta put in some more new orders in the system and price them.
See ya
